Kanad Ghose (Ph.D., Iowa State) is the Site Director at Binghamton University (State University of New York at Binghamton) for the Center for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems (ES2), a NSF Industry-University Collaborative Research Center focused on research and developing technologies for reducing the total energy consumption of data centers. He is Professor in the Computer Science department at Binghamton and served as the Chair of the Department from 1999 to 2016. Ghose’s research interests include power-aware systems and microarchitectures, high-performance computing and computer systems software. His research work has been supported by the NSF, AFOSR, DARPA and the industry (Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Xilinx, Lockheed-Martin, BAE and others). He supervised 21 PhD dissertations to date and holds 24 US patents. He is a member of IEEE and ACM and a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
