Case Study for Use of Micro Data Centers (session)
Ron recently retired from GlaxoSmithKline after spending 33 years in various positions supporting their core data centers in the US. As the Regional Data Center Manager, his responsibilities included ensuring that the IT facility requirements were communicated with the real estate facilities teams. This included ensuring that all maintenance programs and capital improvement projects meet those requirements. Ron’s team was also responsible for physical security, capacity planning, facility metrics, and the racking and stacking of IT components for approximately 80,000 sq. ft of floor space. He also consulted with global business units on all new IT facility design projects. Ron has 48 years of experience in IT with the last 18 dedicated to critical facilities management. Ron holds a BS and MS from Philadelphia University. Ron serves on the board of directors of the Delaware Valley Chapter of 7×24 Exchange.
