Data Center Trends Shaping the Industry (session)
Angie Garza is currently the Director of Data Center Advanced Technology Sourcing at Google, where she manages the organization responsible for the Sourcing & Procurement of Data Center Infrastructure and Advanced Technology. Before that, she was the Sr. Director of Engineering at X Corp. (f.k.a. Twitter), where she was responsible for running the organization that designs, implements, maintains, and operates data centers, infrastructure, and hardware to support the X platform. She also worked for almost 10 years as Head of Global Data center Infrastructure Procurement and Supply Chain at AWS, where she was responsible for sourcing and delivery of critical Hardware and Data Center Infrastructure globally, including but not limited to: Modular Data Centers, Switchgear, Transformers, Power Distribution Cabinets, Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, Chillers, and Air Handling Units among other categories. An Engineer by Passion, Angie has more than 20 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and engineering and throughout her career, she has helped organizations and customers save billions of dollars in terms of product and supply chain optimizations, cost efficiencies, and value engineering efforts mainly in the data center and technology industries. In 2020, Angie received the “Young Achievers in Corporate Responsibility” award by the Hispanic Association of Corporate Responsibility (HACR) for her contributions in support of Hispanic Communities in Mexico and Seattle. In 2021, she was the first Hispanic Leader to be nominated by the Amazon Web Services Infrastructure Organization for the Executive Leadership program at HITEC. In 2023, she was recognized by Infrastructure Masons with the IM100 Award, which recognizes leaders in the Data Center Industry for their meaningful contributions in the space.
