Leonard graduated from the University of Florida in 1981 with a Bachelor of Design from the School of Architecture. He moved to Seattle in 1982 and worked on retail and office projects until taking on his first data center project with Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska. After that project, he developed a Mission Critical Practice Group within Callison, LLC and provided data center design services for a wide variety of clients in the technology, financial, insurance, hosting and software sectors. He has provided design services across the United States and internationally including projects in Canada, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, India, Japan and Germany. In 2014, Leonard started his own architectural firm where he continues to design data centers for clients in the Northwest and across the United States. Leonard was a founding member and currently serves as the Secretary of the 7×24 Exchange Northwest Chapter and is also the Co-Chair of the Code Committee with the Seattle Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
